Bush old Garnacha vines (average 75 years old) from different plots of old vines at more than 900 meters above the sea level in Villanueva de Avila in the Alto Alberche, specifically in the western part of the Valley, northern part of the Sierra de Gredos. (Ávila, Sierra de Gredos).
Wine making:
They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
The grapes were harvested during the last week of September and the first week of October, from each vineyard separately. A 20% of whole bunch was used to keep the freshness. Contact with the skins lasted between 15 and 30 days, depending on the grape, each batch fermented and aged in different containers.
Once the alcoholic fermentation was completed, the wine was lightly pressed and aged in used French oak barrels of 500 liters.
Tasting notes:
It is characterized by bright, clean ruby colour. On the nose, aromas of ripe red and black fruit. Full of character. Fruity on the palate, easy to drink, with notes of ripe fruit. Fruity finish. Easy to drink and enjoy, without renouncing the complexity of the Alto Alberche garnachas.
Serving and Pairing:
Enjoy with stews, red meats, and roasts.
Served between 14-16 ºC.
