Wine making:
Rico-Nuevo is the name of the project of the young winemaker Juan Andrés Martín Pérez, alias Juanan. The fourth generation of a family that has always worked its vineyards in the Sierra de Gredos in a traditional way and is proud to recognise the fresh and very mineral village wines.
Rico-Nuevo Garnacha comes from a selection of plots in different locations in the village of Burgohondo. They are old vineyards planted on granite soils and under a typically continental climate. The agriculture is respectful of the environment and the grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum moment of ripening.
The Rico-Nuevo Garnacha grapes are vinified by parcels. They undergo maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and no wood is used. Once the wine is ready, it is bottled unfiltered and unclarified, so it may contain sediment.
Rico-Nuevo Garnacha is the entry-level wine of this winery. A young red wine from the village, ideal for easy drinking but without losing the identity of the place.
Tasting notes:
Rico-Nuevo 2021 is a fruity red wine. In the nose it is intense, with aromas of fresh fruit, mineral touches and floral notes. Short on the palate.

Enjoy with stews, red meats, and roasts.
