Old vineyards from DOP Cebreros-Sierra de Gredos, Avila.
6 months aged red wine.
Bush old vines from the area of “El Zaudejo”, a vineyard planted with old Garnacha vines in granite soil.
They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
When the Rico-Nuevo Barrera de Sol grapes reach the winery, they are meticulously selected before being gently crushed. They then macerate and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts. Finally the wine ages in barrels and eggs for 6 months. It is bottled without filtering or clarifying and may contain sediments.
Rico-Nuevo Barrera de Sol is made by a very individual project that seeks to showcase the marked character of this wine region that is getting more and more popular. Fresh minerality.
Rico-Nuevo Barrera de Sol 2019 is a juicy red wine with aromas of fresh red fruit and spicy notes. On the palate it is round, powerful and fruity, with marked tannins and a mineral finish.
